The Global Chamber on African Trade, Rights and Economic Development (GCATRED) and the Future Union have officially entered into a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that marks the beginning of a transformative collaboration aimed at advancing trade, innovation, and sustainable development across Africa and beyond.
The agreement, signed by His Excellency Amb. Emmanuel Amara Vandi Fomba, Founder & Global President of GCATRED, and Dr. Abdelgalil Sharaf, Chief Executive Officer of the Future Union, signifies a shared commitment to promote economic cooperation, technological innovation, and inclusive growth through cross-border collaboration, investment facilitation, and institutional strengthening.
In his message of goodwill, Dr. Abdelgalil Sharaf expressed deep optimism about the partnership, stating:
“It is with great pleasure that I formally welcome His Excellency Ambassador Fomba and the entire GCATRED organization into this strategic partnership. We are immensely optimistic about this important step forward and believe it marks the beginning of a collaborative journey with significant potential. The formal signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is a crucial milestone, and we are excited to now put our shared commitments into action. We look forward to achieving great things together and building a mutually beneficial future.”
Under this MOU, both organizations will work jointly to:
Promote trade facilitation and economic integration across Africa and the Middle East.
Advance innovation ecosystems and digital transformation in support of youth and women entrepreneurs.
Strengthen institutional partnerships that drive sustainable investment and industrial development.
Champion ethical leadership, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability in business practices.
Speaking on behalf of GCATRED, Ambassador Fomba welcomed the partnership as a pivotal step in expanding Africa’s global trade alliances and investment frontiers. He noted that the collaboration aligns with GCATRED’s mission to position Africa as a dynamic and equitable partner in the global economy, leveraging innovation, rights-based trade, and responsible development frameworks.
“This partnership with the Future Union represents a forward-looking alliance that bridges Africa’s aspirations with global opportunities. Together, we will foster new channels of cooperation that empower African businesses, enhance human capital, and drive transformative growth,” Ambassador Fomba remarked.
The partnership between GCATRED and Future Union is expected to catalyze joint programs, research initiatives, capacity-building projects, and trade missions, setting a model for intercontinental collaboration in pursuit of inclusive and sustainable development goals.
As both organizations prepare to roll out the first phase of joint activities, the MOU stands as a testament to their shared vision—a future where trade, innovation, and human development converge to uplift communities and strengthen global solidarity.
