Develop Tourism and Creative Economy ✈

Objective :

Increase Africa’s share of global tourism arrivals by 25% by 2030, while expanding the creative economy’s contribution to GDP.

Activities :

  • Support the development of 50 sustainable tourism and eco-tourism projects by 2030,
    focusing on community-based initiatives, conservation, and local economic
    empowerment.
  • Introduce digital booking and management platforms for eco-tourism sites to increase
    visibility, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
  • Integrate capacity-building programs for local communities, including hospitality
    training, sustainable practices, and small business management.
  • Promote 10 pan-African cultural tourism routes and festivals by 2028, highlighting
    heritage sites, historical landmarks, and regional cultural experiences.
  • Develop a digital cultural tourism guide and app to map routes, provide itineraries, and
    facilitate bookings for tourists across Africa.
  • Partner with regional and international tourism boards to market Africa’s cultural
    tourism offerings globally.
  • Facilitate creative industry financing for 1,000 African artists annually through grants,
    microloans, and investor matchmaking programs.
  • Establish a Creative Economy Accelerator Program to support music, film, fashion,
    visual arts, and digital content production.
  • Launch pan-African creative marketplaces and digital platforms to connect artists with
    audiences, buyers, and collaborators internationally.
  • Train 5,000 tourism professionals, artists, and creative entrepreneurs by 2030 on
    digital marketing, sustainable practices, and cultural entrepreneurship.
  • Support innovation labs for the creative economy to experiment with new business
    models, VR/AR cultural experiences, and immersive tourism offerings.
  • Implement a Tourism and Creative Economy Dashboard to track project development,
    festival participation, artist financing, and economic impact.
  • Publish an annual Africa Tourism and Creative Economy Report highlighting trends,
    investment opportunities, and best practices.
