Accelerate Renewable Energy and Green Transitions

Objective :

Double Africa’s renewable energy adoption by 2030 through trade, investment, and policy advocacy.

Activities :

  • Mobilize $2 billion by 2030 to finance renewable energy projects across Africa, leveraging public-private partnerships, impact investors, climate finance mechanisms, and multilateral development funds.
  • Establish a Pan-African Green Energy Investment Fund to consolidate resources for
    solar, wind, hydro, and bioenergy initiatives.
  • Develop innovative financing models such as blended finance, green bonds, and pay-as
    you-go schemes to attract private sector participation.
  • Deploy 200 decentralized solar and wind mini-grids in rural and underserved
    communities by 2028, ensuring access to clean, reliable, and affordable energy.
  • Incorporate smart grid technology, IoT monitoring, and mobile payment systems to
    optimize operations and maintenance.
  • Provide community training and local capacity building to ensure sustainable operation
    and management of energy systems.
  • Advocate for and support renewable energy policy adoption in 25 African countries by
    2030, promoting incentives, regulatory frameworks, and grid integration standards.
  • Develop a Renewable Energy Policy Toolkit for governments, including feasibility
    studies, regulatory guidelines, and best practices.
  • Conduct policy dialogues, workshops, and webinars with policymakers, utilities, and
    private sector stakeholders to accelerate uptake of clean energy solutions.
  • Train 1,500 energy sector professionals, policymakers, and entrepreneurs by 2027 on
    renewable energy technologies, project development, and financing models.
  • Establish renewable energy innovation hubs to incubate start-ups, pilot new
    technologies, and facilitate cross-border knowledge exchange.
  • Implement a Renewable Energy Impact Dashboard to track project deployment, energy
    generation, CO₂ reduction, and community benefits.
  • Publish an annual Renewable Energy Progress Report highlighting achievements,
    lessons learned, and investment opportunities.
