Foster Human Capital Development

Objective :

Equip 100,000 Africans (youth, women, policymakers, entrepreneurs) with skills and leadership
training by 2030.

Activities :

  • By 2030, deliver 200 comprehensive training and entrepreneurship programs across
    Africa targeting youth, women, SMEs, and emerging leaders.
  • Integrate blended learning approaches, combining in-person workshops, online
    courses, and mentorship programs to maximize reach and impact.
  • Include innovation, digital skills, and sustainable business practices as core modules to
    ensure relevance to modern economic opportunities.
  • Establish 10 GCATRED-affiliated trade and economic research centers in partnership
    with universities and think tanks by 2027.
  • Centers will focus on policy research, economic forecasting, trade analytics, and
    innovation in economic development, providing actionable insights for policymakers
    and businesses.
  • Implement digital knowledge hubs within each center to enable remote access to
    research, datasets, and training resources across Africa.
  • By 2030, provide policy and leadership training to at least 5,000 policymakers, trade
    negotiators, and public-sector leaders.
  • Launch a GCATRED Leadership Fellowship Program to nurture the next generation of
    African economic and trade leaders with cross-border exposure and mentorship.
  • Use simulation exercises, case studies, and digital policy labs to build practical
    decision-making and negotiation skills.
  • Introduce specialized programs for women and youth entrepreneurs, including seed
    funding, business incubators, and mentorship by industry leaders.
  • Target 50,000 beneficiaries directly through skills development, entrepreneurship
    incubation, and digital capacity-building initiatives by 2030.
  • Implement a centralized M&E system to track participant outcomes, employment
    creation, business growth, and policy influence.
  • Publish an annual Human Capital Development Impact Report to showcase results,
    best practices, and lessons learned.
